Today’s column by James Slack claims the UK’s contribution to the Syrian cause outweighs current international criticism of No.10’s meagre refugee acceptance rate. Slack argues that the UK’s “contribution to the humanitarian effort in camps in Syria and neighbouring countries (where they are kept safe, without having to make perilous journeys to Europe)”. In addition to contribution figures to humanitarian efforts in Syria, Slack reinforces the status quo and dismisses the criticism of the government’s handling of the crisis as a “lie”. A misleading and unfair article.
